POLYURETHANE is a polymer with unique properties, widely used to make parts for very tough operating conditions. Because of a high price and uncertain production technology, polyurethane is mainly used for especially important units, where usage of rubber (resin) is unreasonable due to the short service life and quite average operating characteristics.

The latest achievements in chemistry allowed to DESIGN polyurethane properties for special purposes in the industry. Suspension bushings and silet blocks, these are the most vivid examples of POLYURETHANE utilization in a car. Polyurethane parts perfectly withstand great alternating loads in hard operating conditions and do not lose its characteristics for many years.

Overseas tuning companies have been working in polyurethane parts production more than 20 years.

What are the principal differences of rubber and POLYURETHANE suspension parts?

RUBBER/RUBBER RESIN

Material, from which suspension parts are mainly made of, is a mixture containing synthetic rubber and/or resin. Because of resin components, which give elasticity, the service period of rubber is limited.

Polyurethane is a completely synthetic copolymer, which properties can be changed for specific production and designing purposes in a wide range.

Rubber parts start losing their main properties right after the manufacturing process; they become harder when stored, they crack from outside and get softer inside during the operation period, losing their main features – flexibility and elasticity. Poor weather conditions: high and low temperatures, ozone and ultraviolet radiation,and also fuels, engine and transmission oils destroy rubber parts intensely.

Polyurethane parts have many unique features and are completely devoid of the disadvantages rubber has. The main factor that prevents wide usage of polyurethane copolymer in production is the high price and long technological cycle. The rubber spare parts manufacturing process takes about 20 minutes; while a part made of polyurethane needs more than 32 hours to be produced.

WHILE RUNNING

When a car is running, rubber parts are considerably deformed and violate operation of suspension kinematics. As a rule, aging of rubber parts is shown approximately after two or three years regardless of mileage. The longer car operation period the more lever plays and poorer S handling control. In turn, it causes fast tread wear, irregular braking and back coupling with the steering control. Lost of elasticity and flexibility of rubber parts is resulted in intensive breakdown of other suspension parts: ball bearings, control arms and shock absorbers.

Our printed catalogs are not free, so the materials used are chargedr: Toyota - RUR 500, Nissan - RUR 400, Mitsubishi - RUR 400, Subaru + Suzuki + Honda + Mazda (in one catalog) - RUR 400. Each catalog contains titles by cars and sub-section for suspensions; after selecting modification of a car you need, you can easily find the necessary part. But again, in some cases you will need to use Japan electronic catalogs as, for example, there are 5 versions of antiroll bar bushings and they are repeated by car modifications and year of origin, therefore one can make a decision only by ОЕМ and search in the price list.
